The Department of Mathematics at RPS Degree College was established in 2012 with the goal of a centre excellence for teaching and research in the mathematical sciences. Teachers in the department have exceptional research backgrounds and have taught at prestigious universities. The group's mission is to support research in fundamental and related topics of mathematics by providing good education. Both pure and applied mathematics are successful subjects for students to pursue.

The Department of Mathematics offers courses at undergraduate and postgraduate levels. It runs a three year B.Sc. programme leading to the degree of M.Sc. The Department is a major participant in running of RPS PG College. The expert, dedicated and research oriented faculty of the Department runs coaching exclusively for JRF/ NET & GATE exam and various competitions for IISC, ISI, JNU, IIT, NBHM, TIFR and JAM etc.
