The Diwali Celebrations- 2024 was conducted by the students of Mathematics Department, RPS Degree College. The main Motive of this event was to encourage students to take part in the co-curricular activities as well as to celebrate the festival with a sense of togetherness and cultural aspect.

We are thrilled to report that, on October 20, 2024, at RPS Degree College in Mahendergarh, students from the Mathematics department won every single top spot in the prestigious quiz competition on statistics day, which was organized by the department of Geography in collaboration with Mathematics. We would like to extend our sincere congratulations to our outstanding Department of Mathematics students, whose extraordinary knowledge, fast thinking, and unshakeable drive enabled them to accomplish this outstanding feat. Additionally, our distinguished faculty members deserve a special round of applause.

To commemorate the birth of the second President of India, Dr. Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan, who was a philosopher and a great teacher, 5th September every year, is celebrated as Teacher’s Day. His contribution towards Indian education is undeniable. The Teacher’s Day was organized with incredible gusto and zeal by the students of Hons. Mathematics students. The celebration took place during the lunch time. Teachers play a major role in making their students responsible citizens of tomorrow and good human beings.

A group of 76 college students (B.Sc. NM 4th Sem) comprising 6 faculty members embark on a religious trip on 14th March 2024 , seeking to deepen their faith and serve others. This could be a mission trip, where they volunteer in a community or build something, or a pilgrimage to a holy site. The journey likely test them, forcing them to step outside their comfort zones and grow both in their faith and as individuals. They returned with stronger bonds and a renewed perspective

Department of Mathematics has organized a Guest Lecture for faculty on 9th Oct 2023. Prof. Vishnu Narayan Mishra, Department of Mathematics, Indira Gandhi National tribal University, MP has delivered lecture On “Approximation of Functions in l_p and L_p Spaces”. Prof. Mishra gave a brief introduction about Functional Analysis. He elaborated applications of l_p and L_p Spaces in various domains. It was a very interactive session and it gave a deep insight about research in the field of Approximation Mathematics and its applications.

December 22 was designated as, National Mathematics Day‟ by government of India in 2012. This day is celebrated every year to mark the birth anniversary of legendary Indian mathematician, Srinivasa Ramanujan. The celebrations aim at spreading awareness about the importance of mathematics and the contributions made by Srinivasa Ramanujan, in the field of mathematics. All over India this day was celebrated by taking various activities like Poster Presentation, Workshops, Mathematics quiz etc

Four days educational trip was organised by Department of Mathematics, RPS Degree College, Balana, Mahendergarh to visit IIT Roorkee. The tour comprised students of B.Sc. 5th Semester accompanied by faculty members. We started our journey at 09:30 A.M. with and reached at 06:30 P.M. at the location. “Educational trips are educational experiences that allow students to apply lessons to the real world.” With this inspiration we visited IIT Roorkee. Our professors arranged a lecture with highly experienced progessors, prof. Premananda Bera (HOD of Maths Deptt. In IIT Roorkee), Prof. Sandip Banerjee, Ass. Prof. Surajit Ghosh, Ass. Prof. Manil T. Mohan, Prof. Taniya Srivastava

Mathematics Training and Talent Search Programme (MTTS) is the most popular undergraduate/graduate training programme in Mathematics running in India. Avantika Student of Hons Math got selected in above programme. Only two students have been selected from Haryana.

The Martyrs Day celebration held at RPS Degree College was a solemn yet inspiring event that paid tribute to the brave souls who sacrificed their lives for the nation. Organized by Department of Mathematics, the event brought together students, faculty members, and distinguished guests to commemorate the sacrifices made by martyrs in the struggle for independence and other noble causes by presenting Patriotic songs, Ragni, Poems and speeches.

The air was charged with excitement and intellectual fervor as the inter college Maths Quiz Contest unfolded at P.G College Narnaul. Organized by P.G College Narnaul, this event aimed to celebrate and reward the mathematical prowess of students across various age groups. A team of RPS Degree College secured all three top positions. Mohit Kumar from RPS Degree College got 1st position. Nikhil from RPS Degree College got 2nd position. Priya from RPS Degree College got 3rd position.

The Expert Talk by Professor C.B Gupta from B.I.T.S Pilani, was a highly anticipated event held at Department of Mathematics on 30th june 2022. Organized by Department of Mathematics , RPS Degree College, this event aimed to bring together students, faculty, and experts in the field to engage in a stimulating discussion on 'Career opportunities in Statistics’.

An expert lecture was conducted in the Department of Mathematics on 5 November’2022 at 10am. Prof. S. Ponnusamy, Chair Professor, IIT Madras, delivered a lecture on “Analytic functions and Power series representation.” Students of MSc 1 sem, MSc 3 sem, Section A and B and Hons. Mathematics 5 sem, attended the lecture. All the faculty members of the Department of Mathematics were present in the lecture. Dr. Devender Yadav, Registrar, RPS College, welcomed the expert by presenting a bouquet, Safa and with memento. The lecture aimed to delve into the intricacies of Analytic functions and Power series Representation and provide valuable insights from an esteemed expert in the field. The highlight of the event was the presence of Professor S. Ponnusamy, from IIT Madras , a renowned expert in Analytic functions. Professor S. Ponnusamy is widely recognized for their contributions to Power series Representation, and their expertise added immense value to the lecture.

A group of students B.sc (honours) Mathematics and M.sc Mathematics from RPS Degree College, Balana, embarked on an educational visit to three prominent locations: Indian Institute of Technology (I.I.T) Roorkee, Rishikesh, and Mansoori for three days. The purpose of the visit was to provide students with practical insights into engineering, technology, and cultural heritage, enhancing their academic understanding and fostering a spirit of exploration and learning. The visit included interactive sessions where students engaged with cutting-edge research projects, laboratories, and innovative technologies

The Zonal Science Quiz Competition held on 27th ,Nov. 2021 at Govt. college sec. 14 Gurugram was a remarkable event that showcased the brilliance and enthusiasm of young minds in the field of science. Organized by Govt. college sec. 14 Gurugram, the competition brought together students from various colleges across the zone to test their knowledge, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills. RPSians always rock. 1st runner up at zonal science quizzes competition.

The Online interactive session held at Department of Mathematics, RPS Degree College Auditorium, on June, 8, 2021, at 11a.m was an insightful and engaging event that brought together students, faculty members, and experts in the field. The session aimed to provide a platform for meaningful discussions and exchange of ideas. The event commenced with an opening address by Dr. Sanjay Lamba. Visiting scientist, university of California, Berkeley, U.S.A., the head of the Department of Mathematics, who welcomed the attendees and highlighted the importance of such interactive sessions in enhancing learning and fostering a culture of critical thinking.

The online National Level Seminar on representation theory of finite groups was held on 29th ,may, 2021 at Department of Mathematics, RPS Degree College. The seminar aimed to provide a platform for researchers, academicians, and industry experts to share their latest findings and insights in various fields of science and technology. Students of M.sc Mathematics 4th semester presented a research paper in this seminar.

The Celebration of National Mathematics Day was a momentous occasion held at Department of Mathematics, RPS Degree College on December 22nd 2019, to honor the 131st birth anniversary of the renowned Indian mathematician, Srinivasa Ramanujan. Organized by Department of Mathematics, the event aimed to promote awareness and appreciation for mathematics among students, educators, and the community at large. The event commenced with an inaugural ceremony graced by distinguished mathematicians, educators, and dignitaries. The chief guest delivered an inspiring speech emphasizing the importance of mathematics in modern society and its relevance in various fields.

The educational visit to Jaipur was organized by Department of Mathematics, RPS Degree College with the aim of providing students with a hands-on learning experience about the rich cultural heritage and historical significance of Jaipur, also known as the Pink City. The trip was designed to enhance students' understanding of history, architecture, and cultural diversity. Bsc final year students visited to jaipur city.

The online webinar on "Women in Mathematics" was a significant event organized by Department of Mathematics, RPS Degree College. Held on 12th, may, 2022, the webinar aimed to shed light on the contributions, challenges, and future prospects of women in the field of mathematics. The event featured distinguished speakers and panelists, including renowned mathematicians, educators, and researchers. Among them were Dr. Riddhi Shah, Professor JNU Delhi, and Dr. Anima Nagar, Associate professor, IIT Delhi, who shared their valuable insights and experiences throughout the webinar.
